G & S Minerals Appoints William Curtis to the Board of Directors; Announces Extension of Closing Date of Mayan Gold, Inc. Transaction

LAS VEGAS, NV -- 07/18/08 -- G & S Minerals, Inc. dba Gold & Silver Minerals (PINKSHEETS: GSML) (FRANKFURT: G9S), a mining company focused on developing high-quality and low-risk mineral resource and energy prospects, today announced that the Company appointed William Curtis to the Board of Directors. Mr. Curtis was also appointed as Vice Chairman of the Board. Mr. Curtis joins Chairman Charles Brown, Edward Stanojev, Jr., Ryan Kutty, and Michael Sandidge as current members of the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Curtis joins the Board as the Company continues in its efforts to complete its strategic cross-investment and gold field development agreement with Mayan Gold, Inc. Mr. Curtis was the CEO of G & S Minerals' predecessor company and is a significant shareholder. He had expressed his interest to work with the Company in completing this transaction for the benefit of all G & S shareholders.

Mr. Curtis will assist management with various facets of the Mayan Gold, Inc. transaction, and will work closely with the Company and Mayan to coordinate completion of the transaction, including coordinating the efforts of geologists, regulatory agencies, and other parties necessary to accomplish the required due diligence and effect the closing. G & S and Mayan Gold, Inc. agreed to extend the target closing date for the transaction to July 31, 2008, subject to mutual board approvals.
