Galan Lithium: Resource Definition Geophysics to Commence at Western Basin Projects

HOMBRE MUERTO LITHIUM BRINE PROJECT, ARGENTINA

-          Conductivity surveys to commence at Pata Pila and Rana del Sal

-          Results to assist company consultants SRK (Australia) to estimate maiden resources for the Western Basin projects

-          Previous assays from drilling at Pata Pila and Rana del Sal confirms high Li grade/low impurity brines

15 November 2019, Galan Lithium Limited (ASX:GLN) (Galan or the Company) is pleased to announce that geophysical CSAMT (Controlled Source Audio‐frequency Magnetotellurics) surveys over the Pata Pila and Rana del Sal projects to assist in the estimation of potential lithium brine resources at the Western Basin of the Hombre Muerto salar in Argentina will commence shortly.

The Rana de Sal and Pata Pila licenses cover large alluvial fan areas lying adjacent to Livent Corporation’s (NYSE: LVHM) tenure, covering the western margin of the Hombre Muerto salar. Recent drilling targeted single lines of highly conductive CSAMT (Controlled Source Audio‐frequency Magnetotellurics) anomalies recorded from surveys previously (green lines in Figure 1). Previously reported results from the drilling proved to be highly encouraging returning significant intercepts of high grade/low impurity lithium bearing brines (ASX:GLN releases 11 September, 9 October 2019). The results from Pata Pila confirmed high grades with all samples returning lithium grades >900mg/l Li with low levels of Mg/Li at <2.0 (Table 1). Sampling from the drilling of part of the aquifer at Rana del Sal returned a lithium grade section of 39m >1,000mg/l Li also with low impurity levels (Table 2).

Several lines of CSAMT surveying, additional to the existing lines seen in figure1, will be conducted across the alluvial fans at both Pata Pila and Rana del Sal. The surveys aim to map conductivity contrasts to assist in identifying the extent of lithium‐bearing brine aquifers and to define the geometry and depths to basement. The surveys are to be conducted by the Company’s geophysical consultants Quantec Geoscience Ltd (Quantec). Quantec previously conducted the surveys over the nearby Candelas channel at Hombre Muerto where Galan recently announced a maiden resource (ASX: GLN 1 October 2019).

Resource estimation work will be conducted by the Company’s independent consultants SRK (Australia) utilising their Australian and Argentinian based teams.

About Galan

Galan is an ASX listed company exploring for lithium brines within South America’s Lithium Triangle on the Hombre Muerto salar in Argentina. Hombre Muerto is proven to host the highest grade and lowest impurity levels within Argentina and is home to Livent Corporation’s El Fenix operation and Galaxy Resources and POSCO’s Sal de Vida projects. Galan’s primary target is the adjoining Candelas channel target, a ~15km long by 3‐5km wide valley filled channel which project geophysics and drilling have indicated the potential to host a substantial volume of brine and over which a maiden resource estimate has recently been conducted.
