Geodex reports future development plans for Sisson Brook Zone III Tungsten-Molybdenum deposit, New Brunswick.

Geodex reports future development plans for Sisson Brook Zone III Tungsten-Molybdenum deposit, New Brunswick.

Geodex Minerals Ltd. (‘the Company’) is pleased to update progress on the Zone III tungsten-molybdenum deposit at Sisson Brook, New Brunswick. The deposit has been reported on regularly over the past two years and is now at a development stage. The Company’s aim is to advance the deposit towards an open-pit mine and take advantage of the considerable benefits of logistics and infrastructure which exist in this part of New Brunswick.

The Company completed an 11,819 metre drilling program by the end of July 2008 which was directed towards new zones in and around Zone III, but mainly at extending the East Flank Zone which has in the past produced better grade material, particularly in molybdenum. This has been discussed in several News Releases (October 30, 2007, January 10, 2008, March 25, 2008) and initial 2008 drilling results are summarized in a News Release of September 17, 2008. This work is indicating a higher grade core zone through the central part of Zone III which will be the focus of Company work in the immediate future and will likely be the site of starter pits having optimum grades for the start of open-pit mining.

To take into account the positive results from the new drilling, the Company has decided to upgrade the block model for Zone III (by the end of October) and to continue the metallurgical studies which began in early 2008 and which should be concluded by year’s end. Production scheduling from these results will form the backbone of a milestone Pre-Feasibility report by Wardrop Engineering which will now be completed in April 2009.

The Pre-Feasibility study will also incorporate conclusions from other engineering programs which have been under active study throughout 2008. Geotechnical conditions and tailings impoundment options have been researched this summer by TerrAtlantic Engineering Limited and a wide range of environmental studies and community relations activities have been carried out by Rescan Engineering. Along with plant design details, infrastructure studies, power and transportation costs (Wardrop), these will contribute to a very comprehensive Pre-Feasibility report for Sisson Brook in 2009.

Jack Marr, M.Sc., P.Geo., is the in-house QP for this project.
