Geoexchange Technology Manufacturer Essential Innovations Announces Revolutionary Patent-pending “Communication & Controls” Technology

Bellingham, Washington, October 7th, 2008 – Essential Innovations Technology Corp. (OTCBB: ESIV, FRANKFURT: E6S) is excited to announce that it has designed a patent-pending multiple platform communication and controls technology for geothermal and water source heat pumps. Once commercialized this technology is to be integrated and utilized within the entire line of product manufactured by Essential Innovations and will additionally be capable of working seamlessly with any/all geothermal and/or water source heat pumps available in the market today, regardless of the product manufacturer. It is hoped that this ESIV technology having been in R & D since early 2007, can be available for the commercial market by early 2010.

“The potential implications to be seen from the integration of our “ORB” controls package to our ESIV geothermal and water source heat pumps, along with the possible usage of the “ORB” throughout the entire geothermal and water source heat pump industry are monumental, stated Dave Speers, V.P. Systems Integration for the Company. Not only will these next generation controls provide all of the same functionality as our current proprietary controller in regards to heat pump monitoring and optimization, but it will offer a newly applied “open communication platform” as the technology foundation going forward. The “ORB” controls will provide communication using industry standard networking protocols, such as “WiFi” or “Ethernet”. These unique features will present a user with the ability to control and monitor a system through the use of existing everyday external devices, such as a computer, without the requirement for any proprietary hardware/software. Of further significance, a key objective of our commercialization schedule is to incorporate the communication standard, ‘Bluetooth’ following the “ORB” being released to the market in early 2010. As we now move towards the full commercialization of this technological advancement, it is widely felt that the implementation of this technology may change the way that geothermal and water source heat pump products and services are offered and applied.”

Declared Jason McDiarmid, President/CEO, “Upon commercialization, this new technology will broaden our product marketability as we will be in a position to offer developers and large utility providers unique, remote management tools that relate to the maintenance and operation of geothermal utility systems. These proprietary tools will be able to govern aspects of overall system execution and integrity, and allow for the continual monitoring of on-site energy sales & costing procedures, while further providing the benefit of emissions reductions analysis that can provide for a calculable and resalable accumulation of associated offset credits. From the perspective of a typical homeowner, the controls will make geothermal and water source heat pumps truly user-friendly by giving the end-user the wherewithal to operate and monitor their individual homes simply through the use of their home computer, and in future with the potential for PDA accessibility. From a corporate perspective, it will furnish ESIV with considerable advantages when looking to establish working relationships with strategic alliance partners by offering their complementary renewable energy technologies the benefits of easy integration and control.”

ESIV offers “Turn-key Geoexchange Solutions” which provide heating, cooling and hot water supply to residential, commercial, and/or institutional projects with significantly lower operating costs and reduced environmental impact. The organization operates as a heat pump manufacturer, a design-consulting company and a Geoexchange Energy Service Company (ESCO). The Company was incorporated in April 2001, and it has four wholly owned subsidiaries located in British Columbia, Canada and in Hong Kong, SAR, China. Geoexchange technology harnesses the earth’s clean, renewable thermal energy stored just below the surface or in large bodies of water for purposes of heating, cooling, domestic hot water and/or dehumidification. A Geoexchange system is used to “exchange” the earth’s natural heating and cooling properties between a building and the ground. This non-combustion transfer of energy is the source of performance and environmental superiority, as Geoexchange systems need only a small amount of electrical energy to then capture, move and concentrate a large amount of free energy provided by the earth.
