Santacruz Silver Announces Appointment of New Director

Vancouver, B.C. – May 5, 2015 - Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (TSX.V:SCZ) (the “Company” or “Santacruz”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Larry Okada to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Okada is a member of both the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Washington State Certified Public Accountants Association with over 35 years’ experience providing financial management services to publicly traded companies, with emphasis on junior mineral exploration companies. Mr. Okada serves as the acting Chief Financial Officer of Africo Resources Ltd. He is currently a director of several public companies including Revett Mining Company, Eurasian Minerals Inc. and Forum Uranium Corp.

He holds a B.A. in Economics and was in public practice with his own firm of Staley, Okada and Partners and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Arturo Préstamo stated; “I want to welcome Larry to our board, his extensive experience will be highly beneficial to the Santacruz Board. Larry will serve as the Chair of our Audit Committee, and we look forward to his guidance as we move forward as a company.”
