Genesis Energy secures soft loan from Spanish government

Budapest, Hungary – March, 2008 - Genesis Energy Investment Plc. (BSE: Hungarian exchange: GENESIS; OTC: NVT1), a specialist in thin-film solar panel production, announced today that the Spanish Ministry of Industry has committed to a soft loan for Genesis Solar España S.L., a wholly owned subsidiary of Genesis Energy.

The soft loan granted for 2008 can be used to finance up to 25 percent of the planned yearly expenses which translates into Euro 4.6 million in 2008. The repayment period is from October 01st, 2013 until October 01st, 2022. The 10-year loan with a 5-year grace period is given with zero percent interest. The loan must be secured by a bank guarantee and at present the Spanish company is in negotiation to provide the required collateral. Further applications for soft loans by Genesis Solar España S.L. are in progress.
