1. Commencement of the Sale of Water from the Group’s BOOT project in Pekan Baru, Riau, Indonesia (“Pekan Baru BOOT Project”)

On 3 November 2020 and 17 December 2020, the Company announced the win of a tender for the Pekan Baru BOOT Project by a consortium of companies comprising amongst others, PT Memiontec Indonesia (“PT MI”) (a subsidiary of the Company), and the incorporation of a joint venture company, PT PP Tirta Madani (“PT PPTM”) in Indonesia, for purposes of undertaking the Pekan Baru BOOT Project. The Company, through its interest in PT MI, holds a 15% stake in PT PPTM. The Pekan Baru BOOT Project relates to the supply of a drinking water treatment plant in Pekan Baru, Riau, Indonesia with total design capacity of 750 litres per second (“LPS”).

The Pekan Baru BOOT Project has commenced the production and sale of treated water at 200 LPS, which will be sold to customers located in the nearby vicinity via Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (“PDAM”). Concurrently, the Company is carrying out the construction work for the Pekan Baru BOOT Project, which involves the rehabilitation and upgrading of the existing water treatment facility. Upon completion of the construction work, the output capacity of the Pekan Baru BOOT Project will increase from an existing volume of 200 LPS to 500 LPS. Another new water treatment facility under the Pekan Baru BOOT Project with an output capacity of 250 LPS will be constructed and it is expected to be completed in 2026.

The abovementioned business updates in relation to the BOOT projects are not expected to have a material impact on the Group’s consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share for the financial year ending 31 December 2022.
